ANZAC 2008

Right... I did not make it for the dawn ceremony once again... I guess my sleep was more important... Plus it is also Ray's birthday...

ANZAC is still a big event in the southern hemisphere... Guess it is the one day that the two wonderful love hate countries in the southern hemisphere take a break from having a dig at each other and stand united...

Here are some facts about the ANZAC

"It marks the date the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps- the Anzacs- landed at Gallipoli in Turkey in 1915, and engaged in a gruelling battle that was their first real teast of World War One"

"During World War One, 18 500 New Zealand soldiers were killed and around 50 000 injured at a time when the population was just over one million."

Went down with Natalie to Martin Place to admire the wreaths...
